Digitalisation

"Everything that can be digitised will be digitised.“ That is how Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, described the essence of the fourth industrial revolution. Looking back, she was right. Digitalisation has not only given us computers, smartphones and the internet. It is also affecting production in factories, speeding up processes in logistics and providing more road safety.

That is, if everything works out as planned. Up to this day, the mission of the members of the TÜV Association mostly was to ensure safety, i.e. the functional safety of products and systems. Digitalisation has now added the aspect of cybersecurity to this mission.
